Archus - The healthcare infrastructure specialist

Archus is a team of experts who provide strategic and infrastructure advice to health and social care clients. We are specialists: providing support at every stage of the asset and system lifecycle.

We work across Scotland, England, Wales and internationally, bringing wider system thinking and strategy as well as detailed delivery. Our end-to-end advice brings clarity to any healthcare project – and by now we’ve delivered more than 300 in the UK alone.

Such examples include:

  • East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust – Conquest, Bexhill and Eastbourne;
  • Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust – Brighton 3Ts;
  • Mid Cheshire Healthcare NHS Trust – Leighton Hospital;
  • Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust – Bradford Royal Infirmary;
  • Royal Bolton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – Royal Bolton Hospital;
  • Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust – Harlow;
  • Somerset NHS Foundation Trust – Taunton and Yeovil;
  • Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust – Leeds General Infirmary;
  • Imperial College London – St Mary’s.
Trusted Strategic Advisers to NHSIOur team includes over 55 health planners, clinicians, project managers, strategic property advisors and technical specialists. We come together to develop strategies for future service delivery and to implement changes to health systems, bringing an understanding of both digitisation and sustainability whilst focusing on improving patient, visitor and staff experiences.

Working at every level of a health system, we are shaping the future of healthcare.

We use this extensive experience, underpinned by our international experience to understand the challenges faced system-wide, across all areas of the healthcare economy and find solutions to problems that can be found embedded in global healthcare systems. This will allow us to work with you and your stakeholders to create common solutions that can be applied across the entire framework to drive a cohesive, seamless and non-fragmented approach to project delivery.

Archus are currently supporting 8 NHS Trusts with their bids and programmes as part of their inclusion in the published Health Infrastructure Plan (HIP – now New Hospital Programme) of 40 new hospitals. This support has involved strategic reviews, programming, business case appraisal and health planning.

This demonstrates sound and sought-after knowledge of undertaking forensic audits of major health infrastructure projects. This combined experience is brought to clients on a world-wide basis and both practices work globally.  Our team experience includes supporting national programmes of work internationally for India, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Saudi Arabia and Turkey where we have been involved in guiding the ministries of health and subsequently advising service providers and funders deliver some of the largest health programmes in the world.

Our team will always go the extra mile for you. With 70% of Archus shares owned in the business by employees, including 10% within an Employee Share Trust, we’ve embedded ownership across the business and our people share in our success. They will deliver what’s needed to get the job done. And in turn we’ll look after them, helping them achieve their own work-life balance – whether that’s time with family or more formal recognition.

We also proactively engage in our local communities, supporting community charities and events.
