RMF Health is a joint venture comprising Robertson and FES, bringing together two of Scotland’s leading construction and building services contractors.
Robertson is one of the largest independently owned construction, infrastructure and support services groups in the UK and has worked with Health Boards throughout Scotland to construct and refurbish facilities such as primary care, mental health and acute hospitals. FES is one of the largest providers of building services design and installation in the UK with more than 2000 employees, providing a unique delivery capacity for M&E and FM services.

The RMF Health team covers all of Scotland, spanning both urban and remote geographical areas, including the islands, and can respond to the health and social care needs of the public, private and third sectors, with an inherent focus on value for money. We bring a strong understanding of the current issues associated with improving the health and social care estate while maintaining continuity of clinical services.
Our breadth of in-house skills covers the feasibility, preconstruction, development, construction and commissioning phases of a project. This expertise ranges from business case support, health planning, infrastructure and masterplan reviews, and sustainability consultancy; through to programme advice, cost planning and collaborative design management, BIM/digital solutions, commissioning, facilities management and property advice.
RMF Health puts a constant focus on delivering value, while working in partnership with our customers, to support Scotland’s health and social care system. Offering early engagement on both construction and M&E ensures value by considering the best infrastructure solutions at the earliest opportunity.
Our depth of experience encompasses significant new build, refurbishment and backlog maintenance projects, including:
- Ward 20, St John’s Hospital, Livingston
- Aberdeen Royal Infirmary reconfiguration programme
- Stobhill & Gartnavel Mental Health enabling works, Glasgow
- Western General programme of works, Edinburgh
In addition to Frameworks Scotland 3, Robertson has previously delivered healthcare facilities through Frameworks Scotland and Frameworks Scotland 2. We also have many decades of experience in all major forms of procurement as well as various types of framework.
