What is the position under ECC Option A (priced contract with activity schedule) where an instruction to change the works information is given but the project manager does not request a quotation for the compensation event? What should the contractor do in such circumstances?
Answer
The contractor can and should notify the compensation event under subclause 61.3. The contractor can do this any time up until the defects date (subclause 61.7) but it is recommended that you do it straight away.
