A major milestone has been reached at the Baird and ANCHOR project: the new link bridge frame spanning the Emergency Department road was successfully installed!
The bridge connects the new Baird Family Hospital to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) and Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH), and marks a significant development in the £167.3m project.
Extensive planning was required as this operation took place in close proximity to the live healthcare facilities, including the blue light access route to the Emergency Department at ARI and RACH. The client NHS Grampian and G R Contracts, the specialist steelwork contractor, were key to ensuring the successful delivery of this element of the largest healthcare project in Scotland currently under construction.
