In September 2009, Interserve was appointed as the Frameworks Scotland Principal Supply Chain Partner to NHS Lanarkshire, with responsibility for management of their Capital Works programme. The appointment was the first of its kind delivered through Frameworks Scotland and sought to select a strategic partner who would bring knowledge, experience and value for money to delivery of backlog maintenance, refurbishment and risk reduction works. Four years on, Interserve continued to work and support the board through extremely challenging financial times, having committed to the use of local labour and actively encouraging the participation of existing and new local businesses in the delivery of these works. The success of this collaborative partnership was evidenced in the willingness and ability of all parties to grasp the challenging problems experienced within numerous ageing properties. The pragmatic prioritisation of the order of works, determining how each of the projects interfaced and impact on daily operations, particularly at Monklands Hospital, and the identification of value for money solutions which made the most of the Capital budgets available to the Board were key deliverables for Interserve.
