Frameworks Scotland 3 is a procurement programme which provides a wide variety of construction-related services for new build, backlog maintenance and refurbishment projects. This national Framework is an agreement with five Principal Supply Chain Partners (PSCPs) and one reserve PSCP selected via an Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) tender process up to 2025 Frameworks Scotland 3 will provide a route for the procurement of publically funded health, social care or other associated facilities operated or to be operated by, or on behalf of any NHSScotland Board(s). A NHS Board or permitted organisation may appoint a PSCP for a project they wish to undertake without having to go through an OJEU procurement themselves. read more

GRAHAM delivers New Critical Care Unit at Monklands Hospital

GRAHAM Construction has completed work on the state-of-the-art 10-bed Critical Care Unit (CCU) at Monklands Hospital in Airdrie and handed it over to NHS Lanarkshire.

Completion of the £5.5 million unit is just one of 12 phased work projects that GRAHAM Construction will complete by Spring 2018 as part of an overall £19 million refurbishment of the hospital.

Healthcare Planning Information Day 22nd April 2016

The Frameworks Scotland 2 team recently organised a successful Healthcare Planning Information Day at Bridge of Allan. This was attended by over 60 delegates from a finance, estates, strategic planning representing: 15 Health Boards and Special Health Boards, Integrated Joint Boards for health and social care, Scottish Government, Scottish Futures Trust, together with representation from the Principal Supply Chain Partners (PSCPs) and four of the Healthcare Planning Organisations.

The Event was organised with the aim of setting out of the strategic context for change and what the implications of this are for those involved in healthcare delivery across Scotland and sought to demonstrate practical ways of meeting these challenges.

Client of the Year 2016: Highly commended

The Frameworks Scotland 2 Team were delighted to receive a Highly Commended Award for Client of the Year 2016 at this year’s NEC Users’ Group Annual Seminar held in London.

The NEC Awards recognise excellence in project delivery and showcase examples of good practice through collaboration from across the world.

Entries came from a cross-section of organisations regardless of size, type and sector. This meant being a finalist, or a winner, was a real achievement and testament to the great work carried out by the individual, team, project, collaboration or organisation.

The Lanarkshire Beatson is a new Satellite Radiotherapy Facility located at Monklands Hospital, Airdrie. It was built to meet the projected future increase in demand and relieve the pressures at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in Glasgow and operates as a satellite facility to support and enhance the delivery of radiotherapy services throughout Lanarkshire and the West of Scotland.

£4.4m revamp of hospital reaches next stage. A milestone in the construction of the new £4.4 million Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit (IPCU) at Stratheden Hospital in Cupar, being delivered under Frameworks Scotland 2 was reached when First Minister Nicola Sturgeon joined NHS Fife chief executive Paul Hawkins in a sod-cutting ceremony.

Foresterhill Transport Hub Project – PSCP Appointment

NHS Grampian were pleased to announce Balfour Beatty have been appointed as the Principal Supply Chain Partner (PSCP) for the Foresterhill Transport Hub Project. This project – funded by a donation of £10million from The Wood Foundation – will see the development of a multi-storey car park for patients and visitors. The Review of Scottish Public Sector Procurement in Construction noted that late payment of subcontractors by main contractors was a particularly corrosive behaviour, and recommended that Scottish Government should trial Project Bank Accounts (PBAs).
